Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai's Sangeet Was 'Crazy', Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor Had Small Ceremony: DJ Aqeel

When one thinks of Bollywood’s most loved couples, Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai always come to mind among others. From their lovely weddings to their affection for each other during interviews, fans love every aspect of these couples. In a new chat with Siddharth Kannan, DJ Aqeel, who performed for both couples, recalled their sangeet ceremonies.
DJ Aqeel said, “Saif and Kareena’s (sangeet ceremony) was very small, with only very few people there at the Taj. Abhishek’s was at his house in Juhu — it was a crazy party. Both were fun. They are all my friends."

“I grew up with these guys. So, there was a sense of comfort, in knowing the whole crowd. It wasn’t like a stranger came in and performed. Most of them even attended my wedding," he said. He mentioned that he also performed at the wedding of Lakshmi Mittal’s daughter. DJ Aqeel said, “Shah Rukh Khan and Saif were also there at that party in Paris, anchoring."
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai tied the knot on April 20, 2007. Contrary to the grandeur of the Bachchan name in Bollywood, the wedding was not a grand affair. It was a rather intimate ceremony with many of the Bachchan family’s close friends left off the guest list. To make up for it, the family sent out sweet packets to those they couldn’t invite. Abhishek Bachchan shared on an earlier season of Koffee With Karan, “There was an ailing grandmother at the hospital and my father said, ‘You know, we do not feel good about going out there and having a big celebration.’ Did I want to invite? Did my family want to invite? Did her family want to invite the entire world? Yes. But our parents, all together, sent out a card seeking the blessings of everybody." Abhishek and Aishwarya welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan in 2011.
Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan tied the knot on October 10, 2012. The couple had an intimate wedding ceremony in Mumbai. Saif and Kareena decided to get married after living together for five years. In an interview with Dirty Magazine, Kareena revealed that they were happy with their living arrangement but decided to get married because they wanted to have children. The actress and the actor welcomed their first son, Taimur Ali Khan, in 2016 and their second son, Jeh Ali Khan, in 2021.
