Armaan Malik Hopes For Collab With SRK, Arijit Singh In 2025: 'There Were Many Lows Last Year' | Exclusive
Armaan Malik says singing with Ed Sheeran in Mumbai was one of his biggest highs of 2024. He also discusses his lowest lows.

2024 has been rather eventful for Armaan Malik. Not only did he share the stage with Ed Sheeran at his Mumbai concert but also struck a fine balance between independent music and Hindi film music. While his fans may imagine that Armaan has managed to strike off every bucket list even through his international collaborations with Calum Scott and Marshmello, he says that there’s a lot left to achieve. And interestingly, one of his dreams involves Shah Rukh Khan, who he claims has had a huge influence on him.
In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Armaan says, “I really want to play in Madison Square Garden in New York and be the voice for Shah Rukh sir. I also want to do a cool duet with Arijit Singh. It will be an amazing collaboration! Agar yeh sab 2025 mein ho jaaye toh nothing like it. Kabhi kabhi aisa bhi hua hai ki maine bahot saari cheezein manifest nahi ki, lekin woh ho chuki hai. That’s how life is. That’s the one thing I’ve learnt from 2024."

The singer, who recently tied the knot with influencer Aashna Shroff, further adds, “While there were many amazing highs last year, there were many lows too. I sang on stage with Ed Sheeran and lost my pet Handsome too. To navigate both of these things in one year left me emotionally all over the place. In 2025, I just want to be open to all kinds of experiences that life has to offer. I feel very positive about this year."
Professionally, 2025 has already begun with a boom for Armaan as he has once again been roped in by Seagram’s Royal Stag’s experiential music festival, Royal Stag Boombox. Talking about it, he shares, “I’ve been associated with it for the last three years. I’ve collaborated with them on multiple occasions through shows in different parts of the country. The one thing that stands out for me here is the coming together of hip-hop, Bollywood and melody."
He continues, “The hip-hop element is brought by rappers and hip-hop artists like Raftaar and Ikka, who we’ve this year. A few years back, we had Badshah and some amazing cool acts by EPR (Iyer) and Dee MC. I, on the other hand, bring the Bollywood and melody part, along with Neeti Mohan, Nikhita Gandhi and Amit Trivedi. This year, the line-up is very exciting. The coming together of these two genres and for fans to enjoy it live on stage is going to be thrilling."
Speaking of original soundscapes, what’s the one genre he wants Bollywood music to absorb? “Mainstream Bollywood music is limitless. Look at Gully Boy! It had so much of hip-hop. That’s how that music made its place in Bollywood. There’s no genre that hasn’t been tapped when it comes to Hindi film music. Having said that, I would want to see more and more cooler genres like house and Afro beats. A lot of fresh beats are now making way into Bollywood and it’s giving an impression to the audience that Indian music is indeed evolving and changing its soundscape," Armaan states.
