Cha Joo Young Was Unaware Of Nude Scenes In Latest K-Drama The Queen Who Crowns
Cha Joo Young is now seen in the historical drama The Queen Who Crowns alongside Lee Hyun Wook.
South Korean actress Cha Joo Young has once again created a stir with her bold moves on the screen. Currently seen in a new historical K-drama The Queen Who Crowns, Cha Joo Young has been the talk of the town since the very first episode where she suggestively went topless for a particular scene, creating a lot of buzz already. This came nearly a year after the actress was seen in the mega-hit K drama The Glory, grabbing attention for her nude scene. It was only later revealed that it was a CGI-created scene.
With the latest nude scene in The Queen Who Crowns, fans are now wondering if it was CGI this time or if the actress really acted the part, sparking a controversy about the explicit scenes.

According to a Munhwa Ilbo report, both the lead actors Cha Joo Young and Lee Yi Dam were unaware of the topless scene as the makers did not provide a detailed description of nudity in its script. It states that the actors were not notified about the scene until they sat down for storyboard discussions right before shooting.

Considering that the prospect of the explicit explosion wasn’t previously agreed upon by the lead actors, the production team used CGI editing to elevate the level of nudity. The report also added that the actors in the scene were body doubles. While the lead actors did the part while remaining dressed, the body doubles’ bodies were combined with the actors’ faces in the post-production stage.
Speaking about the same, director Kim Sang Ho revealed that the channel demanded an increase in the level of nudity and neither he nor the production did. “I don’t think I can speak directly about this matter," he said, hinting further about the sensitivity of the issue.

The South Korean historical drama, The Queen Who Crowns features Cha Joo Young in the lead role alongside Lee Yi Dam, Lee Hyun Wook and Lee Si A. Premiered on January 6, it is set in the Goryeo period, following the life of Queen Wangyeong (Cha Joo Young), who is married to Yi Bang Won (Lee Hyun Wook), the son of King Taizhou.
As the story unfolds, Yi Bang Won witnesses his father choosing his younger brother for the throne, leaving him furious. Unwilling to accept it, Won joins forces with his wife to orchestrate his rise to the throne, only to find their marital relationship worsen.
