Daboo Malik has responded to his son Amaal Mallik’s recent social media post, where the singer-songwriter spoke about distancing himself from family and shared his struggles with depression. Amaal’s statement hinted at a strained relationship with his parents claiming that they constantly belittled him. He revealed that his parents, Daboo Mallik and Jyoti Mallik, have been the reason why he and his brother, singer Armaan Malik, grew apart.
Now, Amaal’s father, Daboo Malik has broken his silence on the controversy. On Saturday, Daboo took to Instagram to share a heartfelt photo with his son Armaan, who was seen affectionately kissing his father’s cheek. Accompanied by the simple caption “I love you..," this post marked Daboo’s first public response following Amaal Mallik’s recent statement.

A few days ago, Amaal Mallik’s mother, Jyothi Malik, was questioned about her son’s startling remarks regarding the family. Speaking to Hindustan Times, she responded, “I don’t think you (media) need to be involved in all this. Whatever he has put is his choice. I am sorry. Thank you," she said.
An excerpt from Amaal’s now deleted post read, “The journey has been terrific for both of us but the actions of my parents have been the reason we as brothers have gone too far from one another and all of this has made me step in for myself as it has left a very deep scar across my heart."
“Through the last many years, they have left no opportunity to disturb my well-being and belittle all my friendships, my relationships, my mindset, my self-confidence. The journey has been terrific for both of us, but the actions of my parents have been the reason we as brothers have gone too far from one another," he added.
Hours later, the Kar Gayi Chull singer expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and urged media outlets to respect his family’s privacy. He requested that his vulnerability not be sensationalised or turned into negative headlines.
“Thank you for the love and support, it truly means a lot, but I would request the media portals to not harass my family… Please don’t sensationalise and give negative headlines to my vulnerability… It’s a request."
Armaan Malik is yet to comment on the situation.
