However, looks like there was no truth to those reports after all. Director Siddharth Anand’s latest post on X (previously Twitter) suggests that the news is untrue. The filmmaker seems to have dismissed the reports. While he did not exactly specify what he was referring to, fans are convinced his tweet is in reference to the news about Deepika’s involvement in ‘King.’
On Monday evening, Siddharth Anand took to X and shared a post that simply read, “False." While he did not mention directly what he was talking about, one can only assume he was referring to the news of Deepika Padukone’s involvement in the film since the reports have been going viral since morning. Reacting to the director’s post, one netizen wrote, “Thank god now i can relax," while another comment read, ‘Deepika not part of King is confirmed." A third netizen suggested, “Bring someone from South Industry," while another one wrote, “I love Deepika. But I think it’s better she’s not in this movie. We already had her in Pathaan and Jawan. She’ll also be in Pathaan2. So it might be tiring for audiences to see her in KING. I say, bring Tabu, Madhuri or Kajol for the role."

For the unversed, this morning, a Peeping Moon report stated that Deepika Padukone will play the mother of Suhana Khan’s character, and a former lover of Shah Rukh Khan in the revenge action thriller ‘King’. The report stated that she will have an extended cameo, however, her character will be crucial to the storyline of the film. However, there had been no official confirmation about this update from the makers.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan plays the villain in ‘King’, while Munjya actor Abhay Verma also plays a pivotal role. The movie is slated for release by the end of 2026.
