This adventure-comedy, directed by Ken Scott, is now available to stream in Telugu on the digital platform Aha. Originally released in 2018, this film marked Dhanush’s global debut. It tells the story of Ajatashatru Lavash Patel, a street magician from Mumbai, who takes on an unpredictable journey to reunite with his long-lost father. While the movie had a relatively quiet run in theatres, Dhanush’s performance was widely appreciated. Critics had mixed reactions to the film itself, but his effortless acting left an impression. Financially, the film had a limited impact, earning around $3.26 million (approx. 28 crore Rupees) globally.
For those who might have missed it, the film is already available in English and Tamil on multiple streaming services. Now, Telugu audiences can finally experience the adventure in their language.
Besides this film now being available in a new language, Dhanush’s recent projects have also been keeping audiences entertained. His directorial project, Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK), has been well received. Meanwhile, his acting career continues to thrive, with several upcoming films lined up.
He will next be seen in Kubera, a pan-Indian film scheduled for release on 20th June. Sharing screen space with stars like Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh, Dhanush’s role in the movie has sparked plenty of speculation. While rumours suggest he plays a beggar who climbs the ranks to become a mafia king, no official confirmation has been given. Nagarjuna, on the other hand, is said to be portraying an investigating officer in the movie.
With the film being shot simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, and dubbed versions in Kannada and Malayalam, Kubera promises to be an exciting experience for audiences across India.
