Ikka Singh And Raftaar Praise Arijit Singh’s Simplicity: 'Can Have 100 Of Us For Lunch'

Arijit Singh is undoubtedly one of the most sought after singers in the industry and enjoys a massive fan base. But despite his uncharted success, stories of his simplicity have surfaced time and again. Recently, rappers Ikka Singh and Raftaar discussed the singer’s down to earth nature even after having enormous wealth. They emphasised Arijit’s carefree lifestyle and his refusal to flaunt his fortune. They also shared several anecdotes to prove their point including how he earned a duplex property in Mumbai after a wedding performance but never showed it off.
In conversation with the Honestly Saying Podcast, Ikka shared, “The amount of money he (Arijit) makes is crazy and the person he is." He mentioned that most people in the music industry tend to think of themselves as rich which included both Ikka and Raftaar but “Arijit can have 100 of us for lunch." Ikka also compared Arijit’s grounded personality to that of world-renowned artist Eminem, who also keeps his personal life simple and out of the spotlight.

Elaborating further, Ikka recalled an incident when Arijit Singh did a show, went out and his car took some time to arrive. Ikka shared that the singer sat in an auto in front of him and headed home. He mentioned another incident, saying, “He doesn’t like doing wedding performances, somebody insisted that he perform, in return, he took a duplex house in Mumbai. One should check how much a duplex house costs in Mumbai. He got that for a 1-1.5 hour performance."
Ikka also made comparisons between Arijit and AR Rahman, stating that the latter charges Rs 3 crores to perform a live event. Arijit takes way more but he’s not making a big deal about it and that differentiates him from others.
Earlier, Ayushmann Khurrana praised Arijit Singh and credited the singer for pushing him towards performing live. Arijit rose to prominence in Bollywood with the song Tum hi ho from the 2013 romantic film Aashiqui 2. Since then, he has sung numerous songs for many successful films. Arijit also performed at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding festivities earlier this year, sharing the stage alongside renowned performer Shreya Ghoshal. Videos of Arijit and Shreya’s duet from the occasion also went viral.
