In a special gesture to celebrate the strong bond between India and Israel, the Israeli Foreign Ministry recently hosted a screening of The Diplomat, a film starring John Abraham. The screening was part of the welcome ceremony for JP Singh, India’s new ambassador to Israel. The movie is based on a real-life situation that Singh successfully handled, making it a fitting tribute to his work and India’s diplomatic efforts.

Nurit Tunari, who heads the cultural division of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, shared her excitement, saying this screening would be a “historic premiere." She told PTI, “The film celebrates the strength and dignity of Indian diplomacy. This is the first time the film is being shown outside India, and Israel is the first country to host it, which shows the strength of our relationship."

    Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar also attended the exclusive screening, which was held for a select audience at the ministry. The event was attended by diplomats from around the world, as well as other important guests.

    The Diplomat hit cinemas in India on March 14, 2025, and is produced by Bhushan Kumar & Krishan Kumar (T-Series), John Abraham (JA Entertainment), Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl (Wakaoo Films), and Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma, and Rakesh Dang (Fortune Pictures/Seeta Films).

    The political thriller film has been directed by Shivam Nair and written by Ritesh Shah.The film, starring John Abraham and Sadia Khateeb, is set against the backdrop of India–Pakistan relations, exploring themes of diplomacy and the personal conflicts faced by diplomats. It was theatrically released during the Holi festival on March 14, 2025.
