Jr NTR CONFIRMS Devara Sequel In The Works: ‘We’re On A Short Pause Due To...'
Jr NTR has confirmed that Devara Part 2 is very much in the works, silencing rumors of its cancellation.
Jr NTR fans have plenty to look forward to. The actor, who recently attended the success meet of Mad Square, opened up about his upcoming slate of films and put to rest rumors surrounding the future of Devara. The RRR star confirmed that Devara Part 2 is indeed happening, despite speculation that the sequel had been shelved.
“Some are saying that Devara 2 will not happen. I have to say that the sequel is definitely happening," Jr NTR told the audience. “We are just facing a small pause due to the Prasanth Neel project," he clarified, assuring fans that the story will continue after a brief delay.

Devara Part 1, which released in 2024 under the direction of Koratala Siva, introduced audiences to the gritty world of Devara, the fierce chieftain of a coastal village locked in a deadly turf war with rival Bhaira over arms smuggling routes in the Red Sea. The high-octane drama, which ended on a major cliffhanger, garnered a mix of reviews from critics but emerged as a box office success. The film also marked Janhvi Kapoor’s Telugu debut and featured a stellar cast including Saif Ali Khan, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Shine Tom Chacko.
Alongside the much-anticipated sequel, Jr NTR announced a new collaboration with director Nelson Dilipkumar, best known for his Tamil hits Doctor and Beast. The upcoming film will be Nelson’s third Telugu venture and is expected to be produced by Naga Vamsi, with music by the ever-popular Anirudh Ravichander. While plot details remain under wraps, the project is already generating buzz thanks to the powerhouse combo.
In addition to these, Jr NTR is currently juggling a massive Bollywood debut with War 2, where he will be seen sharing screen space—and squaring off—with Hrithik Roshan. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the action thriller is the next chapter in the YRF Spy Universe following Pathaan, Tiger 3, and War. Jr NTR plays the main antagonist in the film, which is slated for a grand release on August 14, 2025.
Also in the pipeline is his much-awaited collaboration with KGF and Salaar director Prashanth Neel, tentatively titled Dragon (NTRNEEL). Though few details have been officially revealed, industry buzz suggests the film will be a dark, intense action spectacle—yet another genre-pushing outing for Jr NTR.
