Justin Baldoni’s Lawyer Slams Blake Lively’s Motion To Dismiss $400M Lawsuit As ‘Abhorrent’
In January, Baldoni filed a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Ryan Reynolds and his wife Lively, their publicist Leslie Sloane and Sloane's PR firm Vision PR, Inc.

Justin Baldoni has taken a firm stance against Blake Lively’s motion to dismiss his $400 million defamation lawsuit against her. In a statement obtained by People, Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman slammed the actress for her action and called her move to be “abhorrent".
He said, “Ms. Lively’s recent motion to dismiss herself from the self-concerned disaster she initiated is one of the most abhorrent examples of abusing our legal system. Stringent rules are put into place to protect the innocent and allow individuals to rightfully defend themselves. Laws are not meant to be twisted and curated by privileged elites to fit their agenda."

Referring to a silimar plea for dismissal made by Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, the attorney added, “As we said yesterday in response to Mr. Reynolds’ same cowardly measures, we will continue to hold Ms. Lively accountable for her actions of pure malice which include falsely accusing my clients of harassment and retaliation. Her fantastical claims will be swiftly debunked as discovery moves forward, easily disproved with actual, evidentiary proof."
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have been in a legal battle since December 2024, when the actress accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign to damage her reputation.
Bryan Freedman, an attorney for Baldoni, previously denied the allegations in a statement to CNN. “These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media," Freedman said.
In January, Baldoni filed a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Ryan Reynolds and his wife Lively, their publicist Leslie Sloane and Sloane’s PR firm Vision PR, Inc. With no resolution in sight, the trial is scheduled to take place a year from now on March 9, 2026.
