Dhoom Dhaam, starring Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi, has been received well by the audience and critics. Released on Netflix, this comedy action movie was initially titled Raat Baaki, with a completely different cast. During a recent interview, Dhoom Dhaam’s producer, Aditya Dhar, spilt the beans on the film’s casting with some shocking twists. Some shocking twists. Interestingly, the filmmaker revealed that Dhoom Dhaam was initially supposed to star Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan. The idea was shelved at that time.

With an exciting cast of Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan, Raat Baaki was reportedly scheduled for release in 2016. Reports suggest that the film was supposed to mark Aditya Dhar’s directorial debut. Aditya confirmed in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama that the plot of Raat Baaki was the same as the recently released Dhoom Dhaam. He said, “But we tweaked it a little bit. We made it contemporary and a story of today’s times."

    Furthermore, Aditya Dhar was ready to take Raat Baaki on floors back in 2016. However, the film industry decided not to cast actors from beyond the border after the Pulwama attack. Although there were rumours that Fawad would be replaced, the movie was ultimately shelved. After that, Aditya made his directorial debut with the sleeper hit Uri: The Surgical Strike in 2019.

    In his old interview with Mumbai Mirror, Aditya Dhar revealed, “It was a romcom laced with action and while my office was trying to figure out whom to cast in place of Fawad, I was fascinated by the surgical strikes that took place 11 days later on September 29 and started my research on October 1."

    He further revealed another fascinating fact about Dhoom Dhaam, saying that Sima Taparia of Indian Matchmaking had filmed a segment for the movie. She was the one who set up the pairing of Pratik Gandhi’s character with Yami Gautam’s and it was meant to happen at the beginning. Aditya, however, stated that it needed to be removed through editing.

    Directed by Rishab Seth, Alongside Yami and Pratik, the film also stars Eijaz Khan, Kavin Dave, Mukul Chadda, Prateik Babbar, Pavitra Sarkar, Garima Yajnik and Mushtaq Khan in crucial roles.
