Kim Sae Ron's Father Claims YouTuber's Videos Led To Actress' Death
South Korean actress Kim Sae Ron was found dead in her residence, with police ruling it as suicide.
The sudden passing of 24-year-old South Korean actress Kim Sae Ron sent a shockwave among fans, once again raising concerns about the toxicity and bullying that Korean celebrities face following any controversy. While many on social media expressed their grief, others criticised the pressure that these figures face, referring to Kim Sae Ron’s DUI case from 2022. While the Seoul Seongdong Police Station is currently investigating the actress’ case, the cause of her death has been ruled a suicide.
Speaking to the media, the police explained, “We believe she made an extreme choice and plan to handle it as a suicide," as per Yonhap News Agency. The police also refused any signs of foul play, adding that they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron’s family has also broken their silence, alleging that the actress was suffering from significant emotional distress due to a couple of videos by a YouTuber. It was at Sae Ron’s funeral when her father issued a statement against the YouTuber, claiming that the individual posted a video criticising the actress over her wedding-themed pictures on social media. “Kim Sae Ron’s self-deletion again… Gone into hiding after marriage rumors? Tried contacting her directly," the video’s title read, as quoted by Koreaboo.
Since Kim Sae Ron’s passing, the video in question has been deleted. Apart from that, the YouTuber shared many other videos with claims that the actress was working at a cafe due to financial issues, further questioning her sincerity. Sae Ron’s family is reportedly engaged in collecting related material in the matter to take legal action against him.

On February 16, Kim Sae Ron was found dead at her residence in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu in the evening. A friend of hers discovered her at home and immediately reported it to the police, who later found no signs of forced entry or foul play. Later, the National Office of Investigation stated that the case was presumed to be a suicide and would be handled as “an unattended death case."
Known for work in A Brand New Life, Bloodhounds, The Man From Nowhere, and more, Kim Sae Won had been a target of several controversies, including the DUI case that led to major criticism and backlash.
