Manoj Kumar's Son Gets Emotional, Remembers Actor's Last Moments: 'He Was In Pain'
Veteran actor-director Manoj Kumar passed away at 87. His son, Kunal Goswami, shared his father's last moments and mentioned his long health battle.

Manoj Kumar Death: Hours after veteran actor-director Manoj Kumar’s death, his son, Kunal Goswami, spoke to the news agency ANI when he talked about his father’s last moments and got emotional. Goswami mentioned that Manoj Kumar was unwell for a long time due to age-related health issues. He also revealed that the actor’s final rites will take place on Saturday, April 5.
“My father, Manoj Kumar, passed away today at 3:30 AM at Kokilaben Hospital. He had been feeling unwell for a long time, but he fought every hurdle with resilience and grace. He peacefully breathed his last by God’s grace and Sai Baba’s blessings. His cremation will take place tomorrow. Sia Ram," Manoj Kumar’s son said.

“He had been unwell for many years. He was about to turn 88 next month, but at 87, he bid goodbye to the world," he added.
Goswami further talked about his father’s bond with the family and said, “Usually, he would interact a lot with his grandchildren and the younger kids in the family. He was very family-oriented and happy. But in recent times, he was in some pain due to age-related illnesses."
Meanwhile, the entire nation is mourning the loss of Kumar. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bollywood stars including Akshay Kumar; several people took to their respective social media handles to pay tributes to ‘Bharat Kumar’.
Manoj Kumar was known for acting in and directing films with patriotic themes. Some of his popular works include “Shaheed" (1965), “Upkar" (1967), “Purab Aur Paschim" (1970), and “Roti Kapda Aur Makaan" (1974). Because of his association with such movies, the actor was also widely called “Bharat Kumar".
Kumar also directed several other popular films like “Hariyali Aur Raasta", “Woh Kaun Thi", “Himalaya Ki God Mein", “Do Badan", “Patthar Ke Sanam", “Neel Kamal", and “Kranti". He was also honoured with the Padma Shri in 1992 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2015 for his contributions to Indian cinema.
