Comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui recently opened up about a surprising health scare that occurred just ahead of his wedding. Munawar revealed that he was hospitalised merely two days before tying the knot with makeup artist Mehzabeen Coatwala. The couple exchanged vows in a private nikkah ceremony on May 26, 2024, followed by an intimate reception—both marking their second marriage.
In a candid conversation on Sana Khan’s YouTube channel, Munawar disclosed that he had to be admitted to the hospital due to an intestinal infection.

Recalling the tense situation, Munawar shared, “I was admitted for two days, and the doctors told me they would release me soon. But I told them, ‘It’s my wedding tomorrow!’ The doctor laughed but refused to discharge me immediately. He told me not to eat anything, and I agreed, I was like ok, but I have to go."
Despite his condition, Munawar was determined not to let anything derail the wedding. He added, “Cancel or postpone hona nahi hota hai. Sabko lag raha tha ki kaise hoga? Mein bola hojayega, mein pahunch jaunga."
Reflecting on married life with Mehzabeen, Munawar expressed a newfound sense of peace and happiness. “This time, the atmosphere at home is different. I am very happy. Last Ramadan, I remember being exhausted, praying that I just want to settle down. I was tired of feeling lost. I wanted stability, and destiny gave me exactly what I needed. I am so blessed. I never imagined I would find a partner like this. My family is complete—she is like the perfect puzzle piece that was missing."
Interestingly, it’s been reported that actress Hina Khan played matchmaker in Munawar and Mehzabeen’s love story, introducing them to each other. Mehzabeen is a mother to an 11-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, while Munawar, who was earlier married to Jasmine, has a seven-year-old son named Mikael. The couple, choosing to keep things private, have yet to share any photos from their special day.
