The future of the iconic James Bond franchise may be uncertain, but if a new movie emerges, there’s no shortage of Bond Girls ready to steal the spotlight. At the 2025 Oscars, the 007 legacy was honored with a spectacular musical tribute featuring BLACKPINK’s Lisa, Doja Cat and Raye, who delivered stunning renditions of classic Bond themes.

Held at the Dolby Theatre in LA, the tribute kicked off with Lisa’s powerful performance of Live and Let Die from the 1973 Bond film. Doja Cat followed with a mesmerising rendition of Diamonds Are Forever from the 1971 classic. Raye then closed the set with a smooth, jazzy take on Skyfall, the theme from Daniel Craig’s 2012 Bond movie.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Halle Berry, who portrayed Jinx in Die Another Day, introduced the performance by celebrating the enduring legacy of the James Bond franchise. She spoke about the contributions of producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, acknowledging their role in shaping the iconic series. Berry also paid tribute to the legendary actors who have brought James Bond to life over the years.

“I had the great pleasure of working with Barbara and Michael on Die Another Day. And let me tell you, they don’t just produce Bond movies, they were the heart and soul of the franchise for decades. Every generation does have their Bond, you know? The world revolves, it evolves, and so does he. But that signature mix of danger, style, and intrigue…well, that’s timeless," she said.

Before LISA, Doja Cat and Raye took the stage, the Substance actress Margaret Qualley kicked off the performance by dancing to the film’s theme.

The James Bond franchise has been making waves amid reports that longtime producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are selling their rights to Amazon. This move would still allow them to guide the franchise’s future and play a key role in selecting the next actor to step into the iconic role after Daniel Craig. The Broccoli family has been at the helm of the Bond films since the 1962 classic Dr. No, with Barbara and her stepbrother Wilson continuing the legacy.

The Oscars have a long history with the family. Last year, veteran Bond producers Wilson and Barbara were honoured with the Irving G Thalberg Award at the Oscars Governors Awards. Their father, Albert R Broccoli, was given the same award in 1981.
