Actress Radhika Apte is now gearing up to direct a feature film with none other than Vikramaditya Motwane as the producer. The actress, who previously dabbled in directing with the short film Sleepwalkers in 2020, is excited to take on the role of director once again.
In a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Apte shared that she is currently working on 2-3 projects, hoping that one of them comes to fruition in the next two years. “There’s a film I am doing with Vikramaditya Motwane. He’s producing it. I have not written it but I’ll be directing it," she said. She also revealed that she has written another film she would love to direct, though she’s unsure which project will come to life first. Additionally, Apte mentioned that she’s also exploring the idea of creating a show for a company in the UK.

Apte’s previous directorial venture, Sleepwalkers (2021), featured her Hunterrr co-star Gulshan Devaiah and Shahana Goswami. The actress had released the trailer of The Sleepwalkers at Palms Spring International short film festival.
Talking about the process of taking up direction, the actress had told The Times Of India then, “I had never thought of making films. There was no such plan. I just had the urge to write because sometimes you want to create content that challenges you. Roles that come your way are not necessarily from the space that you want them to come from. I just wanted to write something that interested me. There are things that I passionately want to do. When I bounced off the story to Honey Trehan and Abhishek Chaubey, they decided to make it. I had 10 days for the prep and shoot. When I finished writing, I realised I didn’t want to act in it, but I wanted to direct it. And, I absolutely loved the process."
