Late actor Raaj Kumar, known for films like Tirangaa, Pakeezah, and Waqt, was once allegedly involved in a murder, according to veteran actor Raza Murad. In a recent interview, Raza revealed that Raaj Kumar had once beaten a man to death and was tried in court for it. However, he was eventually acquitted. Raza didn’t mention when the incident happened, but said it occurred before the release of Mother India in 1957. Raaj Kumar made his film debut in 1952 with Rangeeli.
Raza recalled the incident that led to the alleged murder, saying, “Once he was strolling on Juhu beach with one of his friends and his friend’s girlfriend. Someone made a nasty comment about the woman. Raaj got very angry. Itna maara that he died. And then there was a murder case against him."

Raza shared that since his father was friends with Raaj Kumar, he attended every court hearing. He explained, “He was prosecuted but ultimately, he was acquitted. This case went on for months and then he was acquitted." While on it, Raza also mentioned that before becoming an actor, Raaj Kumar worked as a police officer with the Mumbai Police.
