Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Case: After arresting the accused in connection with the stabbing case of Saif Ali Khan, the Mumbai Police widened their scope of investigation to determine whether the attack was part of a plot to kidnap the actor’s younger son for ransom.
Saif Ali Khan fell victim to a violent incident when the accused, Shariful Islam Shehzad, broke into his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra West and stabbed him multiple times. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment by his seven-year-old son, Taimur.

Police sources stated that they are investigating whether the accused entered Khan’s premises with the intent to kidnap his younger son Jeh for ransom or simply to commit theft, noting that the attacker required a large sum of money to escape back to Bangladesh.
Intruder’s Demand
Eliyama Philip, a 56-year-old nurse employed at Khan’s home, was the first to encounter the intruder, according to the First Information Report (FIR) filed at Bandra Police Station.
“He demanded Rs 1 crore and, when I resisted, he attacked me with a stick and blade," she told the police. Philip sustained injuries to her wrists and hands during the attack.
She described the attacker as a slim-built man in his late 30s with a dark complexion, who entered the compound through an adjacent property. CCTV footage revealed him wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and an orange scarf.
The commotion woke up the nanny, Junu, who screamed for help, alerting Khan and his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan. They quickly rushed to the scene, where Khan attempted to intervene but was stabbed multiple times in the neck, shoulder, back, and wrist.
Attacker Arrested
The Mumbai Police arrested the main accused in connection with the stabbing case of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan from Maharashtra’s Thane in the wee hours of Sunday.
The accused, Shariful Islam Shehzad, was arrested from the Labour Camp area in the city, said police. They added that he worked as a housekeeping staff at Ricky’s bar in Thane and went by the name, Vijay Das, in fear of getting caught.
