It will be held in Mumbai on 20th March, and the award ceremony will celebrate exceptional storytelling and creative brilliance in Indian cinema and the dynamic OTT space.  In the past year, several outstanding performances brought laughter to audiences, showcasing the incredible talent behind comedic roles. These actors skilfully balanced wit, charm, and comedic timing, elevating their performances to new heights. Let’s take a look at the nominees for best actor in a comic role.

Ammy Virk (Khel Khel Mein, Bad Newz): 2024 was a breakthrough year for Ammy Virk in Bollywood, and he starred in two major releases – ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and ‘Bad Newz’. In ‘Bad Newz’, Ammy plays the role of Gurbir Singh Pannu, the father of one of the twin children in a rare pregnancy situation. He plays Harpreet Singh Sandhu, an automobile dealer, in Khel Khel Mein, the husband of Taapsee Pannu’s character in the film. His impeccable timing in both films left the audience in splits!

    Mallika Sherawat played Rajkummar Rao’s sister, Chanda Rani, in Vicky Vidya ka Woh Wala Video. She brought to life the vibrancy of Chanda’s character and provided plenty of funny moments during her character’s interactions with Inspector Laadle.

    Taapsee Pannu (Khel Khel Mein)

    Taapsee Pannu delivered an impressive performance as Harpreet in Khel Khel Mein. Her convincing portrayal of a housewife and social media vlogger, combined with her chemistry with co-star Ammy Virk, made her on-screen presence a pleasant one.

    Riteish Deshmukh (Kakuda)

    Riteish aces the role of Victor, a ghost hunter who helps Saqib Saleem and Sonakshi Sinha’s characters hunt down Kakuda, a dwarf ghost terrorizing the residents of Ratodi Village. His performance as Victor adds to his tally of well-executed comedic roles.
