Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead at a village in Mansa on May 29, 2022, continues to dominate the music industry. His ninth posthumous track, Lock has already crossed over 9 million views on YouTube within just two days. The song is Moose Wala’s first release of 2025 and the massive numbers prove that his legacy is still as powerful as ever. The video, produced by The Kid and directed by Navkaran Brar, also features Sidhu’s father, Balkaur Singh, whose presence adds emotional depth.

The late singer’s first posthumous song, SYL, was released less than a month after his death in June 2022, followed by Vaar in November, and Mera Naa was dropped a month before his first death anniversary in 2023. His fourth song, Chorni, came out three months later in July and the fifth track, Watchout, was released in November. In 2024, three more songs, Drippy, 410 and Attach, were also released.

Before the release of Lock, Sidhu Moose Wala’s father, Balkaur Singh, was seen demanding justice for his son’s death on X (formerly known as Twitter).

He wrote, “964 DAYS AFTER SIDHU. In Mumbai, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked. Speaking from Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal blamed the state and central governments, questioning how common citizens can feel safe if celebrities aren’t secure. I support his concerns, but why was he SILENT about my son, Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder? Despite conspiracy warnings from Intelligence, his party’s Punjab government reduce my son’s security & publicize it? Why hasn’t the conspiracy been fully uncovered yet? Both the state & central governments failed to protect my son—he deserves justice too."

Sidhu Moose Wala was just 28 when he was shot dead by unknown attackers in Punjab. Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the murder. A year after the tragic incident shook the nation, his parents, Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur, welcomed a son through IVF.
