For the 90s action movie lovers, here’s some exciting news. Sunny Deol’s power-packed 1996 blockbuster Ghatak is making a grand comeback to the big screen. For those who need a refresher (or a reminder of why this movie is pure gold), Ghatak featured Sunny Deol in top form as Kashi, a fearless man taking on a ruthless gangster, played by the legendary Danny Denzongpa. The film had everything—hard-hitting action, emotional drama, and, of course, the kind of dialogues that became instant classics.

And now, Ghatak will be re-released in theatres on March 21, 2025. On Monday, the official Instagram page of Red Lorry Film Festival shared the exciting news with fans.

It read, “Brace yourself for the return of a cult classic! GHATAK is hitting the big screen once again at the Red Lorry Film Festival. Relive the action on 21st March 2025 on the big screen!"

Sunny Deol’s action-packed blockbuster Ghatak, which originally lit up theatres during Diwali 1996, marked its 28th anniversary last year. Even after all these years, the film continues to be a fan favorite, thanks to its intense storyline, powerhouse performances, and unforgettable dialogues.

To mark the occasion, Sunny Deol star took a trip down memory lane and shared a nostalgic video on Instagram, packed with some of Ghatak’s most iconic scenes and powerful dialogues.

Sunny also paid tribute to the legendary Amrish Puri, who portrayed the formidable crime lord Kashi Nath in Ghatak. The late actor’s intense performance remains one of the film’s biggest highlights, making him one of Bollywood’s most unforgettable villains.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Ghatak also featured powerhouse performances from Danny Denzongpa and Meenakshi Seshadri.
