Yash's Toxic In Trouble? Makers Get Notice Over Illegal Felling Of Trees On Forest Land During Shoot
In October 2024, Khandre alleged that hundreds of trees were illegally cut down on forestland within the HMT premises in Bengaluru, during the filming of Toxic.

Looks like Yash’s upcoming movie, Toxic, has landed in big trouble. The makers of the film have been issued a show-cause notice in connection with the illegal felling of trees case on forest land during the shoot. On Monday, Karnataka Forest Minister Eshwar B Khandre confirmed that a notice has been issued a notice to the makers and shared that action would be taken after reviewing their replies.
The minister claimed that the officials had (falsely) claimed, in an Interlocutory Application (IA) filed in the Supreme Court in 2020, that the forest land in Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) possession had lost its forest status. He also alleged that they sought denotification approval without obtaining Cabinet permission.

“It has already been suggested to withdraw this IA. In the last Cabinet meeting, ex-post facto approval was given to withdraw the IA," the minister said as quoted by PTI.
In October 2024, Khandre alleged that hundreds of trees were illegally cut down on forestland within the Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) premises in Peenya, Bengaluru, during the filming of Toxic. Following his visit to the site, the minister instructed Forest Department officials to take immediate legal action against those involved in the tree-cutting.
“This is a serious violation. Hundreds of trees have been removed without permission, and we are seeking strict legal repercussions," he said.
Yash’s Toxic is one of the most awaited films. Jointly produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups" has been directed by Geetu Mohandas. The first teaser of the film was released recently in which Yash was seen in his bold and unconventional avatar. He was seen dressed in a crisp white suit, fedora and holding a cigar, making a star-like entrance in a club, which has an ambience pulsating with extravagance.
Toxic will hit theatres in December 2025.
