“Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way. We couldn’t be happier with our little miracle," wrote Verstappen on his Instagram post.
This would come through as a refreshing change for the Red Bull Racing ace, who has been in the headlines for this heated spat with Mercedes’ George Russell after the Qatar GP.
The Red Bull driver blamed Russell for his penalty while also calling him a double-faced personality in an interview. The Mercedes driver recently then responded to the criticism, calling out Verstappen for being a ‘bully’, revelaing that he threatened drivers to crash into them.
“For a world champion to be coming out saying he’s going to go out of his way to crash into someone and put them on their effing head, that is not the sort of role models we should be," Russell said as per multiple outlets.
But, it seemed like all their quarrels were put to the side as the duo, along with all the F1 drivers, got together to attend the F1 Drivers Annual Dinner which was put together by Lewis Hamilton this year. The cheque for the dinner, however, was picked up by the Brit’s former teammate Valtteri Bottas.
The Aston Martin duo of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll were among the key entities who missed the dinner. Haas driver Kevin Magnussen was also absent.
Meanwhile, Lando Norris took the opportunity to share a cryptic message on his Instagram profile about the recent spat between George Russell and Max Verstappen.

He confirmed on his Instagram that Verstappen and Russell were kept ‘as far away from each other as possible’ during the traditional dinner in Abu Dhabi. “2024 dinner! and yes, the two you’re thinking about were sat as far away from each other as possible," he wrote jokingly.
