Xiaomi Tablets Can Now Let You Play Windows PC Games On Android: Know How
Xiaomi runs on Android but the new support will make it very appealing for people who have been against buying tablets powered by the platform.
Xiaomi has introduced the Xiaomi WinPlay engine, a system-level feature allowing users to play PC games on Android devices. According to reports, it seamlessly syncs Windows gaming with Hyper OS. Further, it helps in cross-platform compatibility without an internet connection.
The feature is specifically created for the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4. Zhang Guoquan, Director of Xiaomi Mobile System Software Department, explains the WinPlay engine creates a virtual environment on the tablet that supports PC games while maintaining excellent performance and stability. He adds that users can access games through platforms like Steam or directly download them to enjoy the gaming experience on the tablet.

Notably, the WinPlay engine claims to support a wide range of gaming devices, including a mouse, keyboard and console controller. Also, it comes with multiplayer gaming support for up to four players.
WinPlay is not a cloud-based video game streaming service. It enables users to run Windows software directly on the device without a network connection via virtualisation.
Xiaomi claimed only a 2.9 per cent loss in GPU performance through WinPlay. As per tipster Digital Chat Station, who shared the image of the Xiaomi Tablet 6S Pro running Windows games locally using the WinPlay engine and an Xbox controller. The engine ran games like Tomb Raider at an average of 45 fps, which isn’t great but playable.
The intelligent resource allocation technology claims to improve gaming performance by reducing system resource load, resulting in smooth gameplay from loading to rendering.
Also, the company is recruiting internal testers for the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro users in China. The possible launch date for the WinPlay engine in the global market is still unknown.
Xiaomi recently launched Pad 7 in the Indian market with a new Snapdragon Gen chipset, promising multiple Android OS updates. Also, it comes with an LCD and offers a slew of AI features. It is the first mid-range tablet to sport iPad Pro-like nano display tech, a very rare thing in this segment.
