Pro-Palestine Protest Blocks Factory Of UK’s Largest Arms Maker
Hundreds of trade union members blocked the entrances to a BAE Systems (BAES.L) factory in southeast England. Pro-Palestinian protesters called for an end to arms sales to Israel which has relentlessly bombarded Gaza since the Oct.7 Hamas attack. The protesters held up signs like "Stop Arming Israel" and "taxpayers have blood on their hands". They stood in front of one entrance where BAE tests and assembles electronic equipment used on military aircraft and in surveillance systems.
