In a world where many only dream of pursuing their passions, a Bengaluru woman’s story is making waves online for her courageous decision to leave a well-paying corporate job to follow her heart. Asmita, formerly an HR professional at a well-known tech company, was earning Rs 1.5 lakh per month. However, in 2023, she took a leap of faith and made a life-altering decision to bid farewell to her corporate career to become a professional baker.
Well now, Asmita’s inspiring story went viral after her husband, Sagar, proudly shared a picture of her mouthwatering baked creations on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing her dedication and remarkable talent. “My wife left a 1.5 L pm job to make these. Thank God she did," Sagar penned, along with a picture of one of the freshly baked muffins by Asmita.

Soon enough, the post garnered the attention of social media users. The internet community expressed its admiration for Asmita’s decision. A majority of users showered the post with good wishes while others praised her for following her dreams.

Currently living in Bengaluru, baker Asmita Paul also sat for an interview with the Hindustan Times. Asked what made her decide to switch careers, she replied, “Bangalore is a city of opportunities, and I was always fascinated with people taking risks, building companies, and trying out things. So, this motivated me to give myself a chance to take a leap of faith and see what’s on the other side."
Asmita also gave a piece of advice to people thinking of switching careers. She said, “Have 12 months of expenses saved, validate your idea before you quit the job, and finally—believe in yourself."
In 2020, Asmita Paul started baking as a hobby. Later, she completed her certification from Lavonne and started baking professionally in August 2023. Now, she sells her baked goods through her Instagram page.
