Elderly Couple In Bengaluru Dragged, Kicked By Daughter-In-Law & Children, Chilling Video Surfaces

A horrifying video of a doctor and her children seemingly assaulting her aged in-laws in Karnataka has surfaced on social media, sparking widespread outrage as netizens demanded stern action against her.
A case has been registered against Bengaluru-based doctor, Dr Priyadarshini N, after allegedly assaulting and harassing her in-laws. Her father-in-law, J. Narasimaiah, lodged a complaint with the Annapoorneshwarinagar police alleging that Dr. Priyadarshini, along with her son and daughter, visited his residence on March 10 and physically and verbally abused him, his wife, and his son, Naveen Kumar, according to The Times of India.

He told police that his son had married Priyadarshini in 2007 but had applied for a divorce. She visited Narasimaiah’s house at 8:30 pm on March 10 along with her daughter and son, and physically and verbally abused the family, he claimed, demanding strict police action against her.
Priyadarshini reportedly claimed that she was provoked by her in-laws. She says she was visiting her husband’s home to discuss his lack of financial support for their children. When she and her children lost patience and reacted, they recorded the video. Police are investigating the claims made by both sides, including a video going viral online that purportedly shows the incident.
According to a post, the doctor’s 80-year-old father-in-law was a heart patient who was kicked and stamped upon, while her mother-in-law, a cancer survivor, was dragged by her mangalsutra for over five minutes. The post alleged that her in-laws were living separately for over a decade due to mistreatment by the doctor, but she violated a court order by forcibly entering their rented house and physically assaulting him.
The video allegedly depicts Priyadarshini shouting, dragging her mother-in-law by the hair, and her daughter kicking the couple. Social media posts related to the video allege a history of harassment by Priyadarshini towards her in-laws. Priyadarshini has not publicly addressed the accusations.
“Severe punishments must be enforced, and the judiciary needs reforms to prevent similar incidents in the future," a netizen said, reacting to the video. “This is beyond horrifying! No elderly parents should have to suffer such inhumane treatment," another user commented.
Narasimaiah claimed that Priyadarshini also issued death threats during the altercation. Police have registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful restraint, criminal intimidation, and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace.
