IRCTC Website And Mobile Application Down Ahead Of New Year, Users Upset
Travellers have been subjected to ticket booking issues for the third time in a month after both the IRCTC app and websites remained down.

The IRCTC website and mobile application have crashed. The news came to light after people, trying to book Tatkal tickets, met with an error message, “Booking and cancellation for all sites will not be available for the next hour. Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted." Ahead of the New Year, many have thronged to the IRCTC website to book tickets online, based on their upcoming plans. However, the outage has left people furious, prompting them to call out the platform on social media.
It is the third time in a month that IRCTC has gone down. The website and mobile application previously stopped working for around 1.5 hours due to maintenance activity on December 26, a day after Christmas. According to the website outage tracker Downdetector, the reports started coming around at 10:17 AM on Tuesday with over 1,000 complaints at the time. It happened when people were trying to book Tatkal and Premium Tatkal tickets for AC class.
