A boss's cold reply to an employee who survived a terrible car accident has gone viral on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Imagine this: you’re on your way to the office when you meet with a terrible accident. You inform your boss about the situation, hoping for some understanding or concern. Instead, their first response is to ask when you’ll be able to reach the office. Sounds harsh? That’s exactly what happened to one employee. After sending a picture of their wrecked car to the boss, they were told it wasn’t a good enough excuse for being late, adding that only a death in the family would be considered acceptable.

    “What would y’all respond with if your manager says this?" wrote X (formerly known as Twitter) user “Kira" on the microblogging platform.

    The screenshot shows that the employee sent a picture of their badly damaged car to their boss. In response, the boss said, “Keep me updated on what time you’re expecting to be here."

    Another reads, “It’s understandable why you would be late, but regardless anything that prevents you from being at the workplace other than a death in the family is unexcused at any company."

      A fourth commented, “Happened to me at my last job. My boss asked me if I was alright and told me to let him know if I needed anything. It doesn’t cost anything to be cool to people."
