The story began during a random segment on ZM Radio, where listeners were asked if they had ever been mistakenly thought to be dead. That’s when Callum, a man who was presumed dead, shared his experience. Callum calmly said, “Yes, I definitely have been presumed dead, mate," as he explained his shocking ordeal.
Callum explained that his sisters were having a disagreement with their parents at that time, and they weren’t getting along, a Ladbible report said. He mentioned that he was living in Wellington, while his sisters were in Christchurch. Shockingly, his older sister called their parents and falsely told them that he had passed away.
What made this deception even more shocking was the grisly detail his sisters fabricated: they claimed Callum had been stabbed to death. Host Vaughan Smith couldn’t hide his astonishment as he probed for more information, exclaiming, “Wait wait wait, you were murdered? You’re not dead in an accident by your own hand, someone murdered you! This is the wildest phone call we’ve ever had."
Callum, remarkably composed considering the absurdity of his story, responded, “I was not in some gangs, but I will say, at the point in time, it wouldn’t have been un-peculiar for me to get stabbed."

He added that his mother was in tears and his father was utterly astonished, exclaiming, “What the f**k is going on?"

To add a further layer of deception, Callum’s sisters had concocted a story about a funeral having already taken place. Callum revealed that his sisters told their parents that the funeral had already happened, and they hadn’t been invited because his ex-girlfriend’s mum and dad “didn’t want them there."
