Celebrated at Prayagraj’s Triveni Sangam, Maha Kumbh occurs once every 12 years and commemorates the meeting of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, the three sacred rivers.

There are six baths or snans in Maha Kumbh, including three royal baths (Shahi Snan) and three other baths.

The primary distinction between the Maha Kumbh Mela and the Kumbh Mela is the location. Kumbh Mela is held in four cities, with Prayagraj hosting the Maha Kumbh Mela permanently.

In addition, the Kumbh Mela happens every three years, whereas the Maha Kumbh only happens once every 12 years. This is another variation in scheduling.

In 2013, a record 10 crore people attended the last Maha Kumbh Mela, which brought in Rs 12,000 crore in income and created 6,50,000 jobs.

This year, the state government anticipates 40 crore devotees to participate in the holy dip, making the Maha Kumbh the world’s greatest religious event.

The 4,000-hectare Kumbh ground has been split into 25 sectors on both banks of the river to handle this extraordinary influx of people.

Uttar Pradesh Police has installed 2,700 AI-enabled cameras and used underwater drones to improve security.

To further guarantee safety, a seven-tier security circle has been created. Security will also be strengthened by the deployment of the Central Armed Police Forces, BDD, AS Check teams, National Disaster Response Force, and Provincial Armed Constabulary.

Moreover, there will be about 10,000 police officers spread throughout Prayagraj’s rural and urban districts.
