GG vs UP Highlights, WPL 2025: Catch all the live updates and unmissable action from the Gujarat Giants' clash against Delhi Capitals at Lucknow's Ekana Stadium in the Women's Premier League.

GG-W vs DC-W Highlights, WPL 2025:
Skipper Meg Lanning’s impactful 92 went in vain as Gujarat Giants defeated table-toppers Delhi Capitals by five wickets to register a hat-trick of wins and book their place in the Eliminator of the Women’s Premier League here on Friday.
Already through to the playoffs, Delhi Capitals rode on Lanning’s 57-ball 92 laced with 15 boundaries and a six to pile up a competitive 177 for five.
But the total was not enough as Gujarat rode on Harleen Deol’s unbeaten 70 off 49 balls and Beth Mooney’s 35-ball 44 to be in contention.
Towards the end, skipper Ashleigh Gardner (22 off 13) and Deandra Dottin (24 off 10) helped Gujarat Giants past the target in the 20th over.
Harleen Deol wins the Player of the Match award. She says she is pleased to help the team win. Tells the ball wasn’t coming nicely onto the bat, so she was just trying to bat deep. However, she is happy the other batters played cameos. Feels she just has to hit and run when batting with Beth Mooney and it is a lot easier to bat with her. Admits she had a lot of confidence in Kashvee Gautam to score a boundary. Reckons she wants to contribute to the team however it is possible.
Ash Gardner says Delhi were looking for 200 but her bowlers did well to pull things back after the powerplay. Tells Meghna Singh played well today, she puts in a lot of effort while training and is pleased for her. Mentions it was a strategy to not bowl herself today, luckily, she was not needed. On Harleen Deol, Ash Gardner says she has played different roles throughout the tournament, she played a lot of positive cricket.
Delhi would be disappointed. They would have loved to end the group stage on a high! That was certain at one point! At the halfway mark, after the incredible innings from Meg Lanning and her partnership with her partner in crime, Shafali Verma, helped Delhi to end the innings with a score which looked a bit over par at that stage. Delhi looked confident to defend it out however, the dew played its part. The Delhi bowlers struggled to grip the ball, regularly bowling freebies and failing to maintain pressure. The likes of Marizanne Kapp, Annabel Sutherland went for plenty. Jess Jonassen took two wickets in two balls but she too ended on the expensive side.
Gujarat needed a good start and dearly needed Beth Mooney and Harleen Deol to put on a show. The duo were watchful at the start, having a tidy Powerplay but once they got comfortable in the middle, both added 84 off 56 balls to turn the tides in Gujarat’s favour. Mooney fell six short of her fifty but passed the baton to Ash Gardner and Dottin who played a valuable cameo to keep the intent going and keep chasing the game. While wickets were falling at one end, Harleen Deol put down the anchor to play a mature unbeaten inning to get her team over the line.
Massive two points for Gujarat as they move to second on the table. That was some chase from Harleen Deol. Well, we thought Delhi had enough on the board and looking at their bowling department, we felt they should defend it out but Gujarat’s main batters, the big names stepped up when it mattered the most.
That is all from this game. One final game coming up from Lucknow before we head to Mumbai for the last leg. On the 8th of this month, UP will take on Bengaluru. That should be a cracker of a game. Join us at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT) and earlier for the build up. Cheers!

…Presentation…
Deandra Dottin is up for a chat. She says she was confident when she went out to bat as she feels the pressure was on Delhi. Tells it is just about taking advantage of the situation. Mentions they played superbly and the players are in good nick and hungry.
Meg Lanning says they knew it was going to be a hard game, they did well in patches but credit to Gujarat for getting over the line. Tells the dew helped in the second innings and feels they were 15-20 runs short. Mentions it was nice to contribute tonight but disappointing to finish on the losing side. Admits they need to do the basics right. Ends by saying they have a few days to reset and watch out the rest of the tournament unfolds.
