Karan Aujla, Disha Patani And Shreya Ghoshal Set To Star In IPL 2025 Opening Ceremony In Kolkata
The IPL 2025 will kick off with an opening ceremony at Eden Gardens on March 22. Performers include Shreya Ghoshal, Karan Aujla, and Disha Patani. KKR will host RCB in the first match.

The IPL 2025 is all set to be kicked-off with a star-studding opening ceremony on Saturday (March 22) at the Eden Gardens. Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will host the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and before the toss, singers Shreya Ghoshal and Karan Aujla, alongside actress Disha Patani will perform.
The opening ceremony will likely start at 6:00 pm IST pm IST and wrap up before the toss at 7:00 pm. According to Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Snehasish Ganguly, the ceremony will be a tightly packed event with a designated 25-minute slot.

Ghoshal, Aujla and Patani are likely to be the headline acts with smaller performances around them. In a series of social media posts on Wednesday, the IPL confirmed the three stars will be present on the occasion.

Aujla is said to be quite excited by the opportunity.
“Thrilled beyond measure to perform at the IPL 2025 opening ceremony. Cricket and Indians go hand in hand and it’s the same for me. One thing is for sure—Mahaul hoga Wavy!" he told the Hindustan Times.
International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah and other dignitaries are also expected to be present at the occasion.
The IPL authorities have reportedly also planned similar opening ceremonies for each of the 13 venues, where groups of stars of similar statures are likely to be invited. After the opening clash, the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad will host the Rajasthan Royals for the second match on Sunday afternoon. Chennai Super Kings will then welcome arch-rivals Mumbai Indians in Chepauk for the third match in the evening.
