'Landed On His Shoulder': New Zealand Star Performer Injured Before Champions Trophy Final Against India
New Zealand are sweating over the fitness of fast bowler Matt Henry ahead of the Champions Trophy final.

New Zealand are dealing with a major fitness concern to their fast bowler Matt Henry before the Champions Trophy final against India in Dubai scheduled for Sunday. With eight wickets, Henry is the leading wicket-taker of the ongoing tournament.
Henry took a five-wicket haul against India in a Group A clash last week.

The pacer hurt his shoulder during New Zealand’s semifinal win over South Africa in Lahore earlier this week. He was attempting to take a low catch of Heinrich Klaasen which resulted in the niggle and forced him off the field.
The 33-year-old though returned towards the end of the innings and sent down two more overs and picked up the wicket of Kagiso Rabada.
“Matt obviously landed on his shoulder and it was pretty uncomfortable. I guess the positive thing from our perspective is that he got back out there to bowl. We’ve had some scans done on him," New Zealand head coach Gary Stead told reporters on Friday.
Stead is positive Henry will recover in time for the title clash.
“We’re going to give him every chance to be playing in this match, so still a little bit unknown at this stage. He’s obviously pretty sore just from landing on the point of his shoulder, but yeah, hopefully he will be okay," he said.
New Zealand had to fly to Dubai for their third and final group match against India last Sunday and then they headed back to Pakistan for the semifinal clash with South Africa in Lahore on Wednesday.
The Kiwis are back in Dubai now where the final will be held.
Stead says the schedule has been hectic but the players have time to recover.
“There’s no doubt that coming here off playing Lahore and we had a full day of travel yesterday, then it just takes it out of you a little bit, but we’ve got a couple of days now of a little bit of recovery and planning and training towards the game," he said.
