West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and opted to bat first in the must-win match for the visitors, but they could only manage to score 163 runs in the first innings. But their bowlers led the fightback and dismissed Pakistan for 154 runs to help them secure a narrow lead of nine runs.
The match is evenly poised after the first day’s play.
