Nearly three months might have passed since the Paris Olympics but shooter Yusuf Dikec’s uber-cool shooting pose remains fresh in the memory of every sports fan. Australian cricketer Ben Manenti was spotted celebrating a run-out in Dikec’s iconic pose during a One Day Cup fixture at the Adelaide earlier this week.

When the Olympic Games were underway in the French capital, Dikec had impressed with his calm demeanour. A picture of him casually taking an aim during a high-pressure event went viral on social media.

The 51-year-old Turkish shooter, who won silver in the 10m mixed-team pistol event, was captured aiming at the target with one hand in his pocket.

Manenti recreated Dikec’s iconic pose after contributing to a run-out during a match between New South Wales (NSW) and South Australia (SA).

On the last delivery of the 36th over, NSW captain Jack Edwards attempted a quick single to keep the strike. Chris Green, who was at the non-striker’s end, promptly reacted to the call. When he was halfway to the crease, Edwards sent him back.

The skipper was forced to change his decision as the ball went directly to the mid-off fielder. Manenti quickly collected the ball and pulled off an exceptional throw to rattle the stamps.

Green was visibly frustrated after losing his wicket and he looked in good touch having scored 33 runs.

Once he hit the bull’s eye, Manenti went on to imitate Dikec’s shooting pose, aiming at the stumps. His teammates soon joined him to celebrate the wicket.
