Watch: Quinton de Kock Shows Game Awareness, Quickly Removes Helmet To Complete Impressive Catch
Quinton de Kock's brilliant catch and Varun Chakaravarthy's key wickets helped KKR defeat RR in IPL 2025. De Kock scored 97, leading KKR to chase 152 successfully. KKR faces Mumbai Indians next.

Quinton de Kock showcased remarkable game awareness to complete a challenging catch in the IPL 2025 match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday. After a dismal show against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the KKR bowlers appeared in sublime form in the away fixture in Guwahati. Varun Chakaravarthy, who hardly made an impact in the season opener, picked two crucial wickets against RR.
The Indian spinner, however, didn’t have the best start. He was smashed with a monstrous 90-metre six by Riyan Parag in his first over.

Chakaravarthy bounced back brilliantly and had the stand-in Rajasthan captain hold out off the very next delivery. The leggie bowled a quick delivery, with the speedometer clocking 113 kmph.
Parag, who was looking confident after the six, went for another big hit. The right-handed batter, however, failed to find a proper connection this time.
Parag swung his bat and a top-edge followed with the ball going straight up in the air.
As soon as it soared high into the night sky, wicketkeeper De Kock began his charge and the South African removed his helmet quickly to clear his vision before extending his arms to complete an impressive catch.
Thanks to Chakaravarthy and De Kock’s combined efforts, KKR got rid of Parag right after the Powerplay. The top-order batter scored 25 off 15 balls, hitting three sixes.
After the early breakthrough, Chakaravarthy also dismissed allrounder Wanindu Hasaranga later in the innings.
Moeen Ali, Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora also shone with the ball for KKR, picking two wickets each. RR managed to set a middling target of 152.
KKR lost the wickets of Moeen Ali and Ajinkya Rahane early in the chase.
De Kock though was in superb form and went on to score a match-winning 97.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi also chipped in with an unbeaten 22 as KKR finished things off in the 18th over to secure their first victory in this IPL. The defending champions will next face Mumbai Indians at Wankhede on March 29.
