Salary Of TTE In Indian Railways

Basic Pay: The starting basic salary for a TTE is approximately Rs 21,700 per month (according to Level 3).
Grade Pay: Rs 1,900 or Rs 2,000 (depending on the post).
Allowances Given To TTE
- Dearness Allowance (DA): 1 percent of the basic salary, which is subject to periodic revisions (currently, it can be up to around 50%).
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): 10% to 30% depending on the city (according to X, Y, Z category cities).
- Travel Allowance: TTEs receive an additional allowance while travelling.
- Other allowances: Medical facilities, pension schemes, and railway passes are provided.
In-hand salary: After considering all allowances and deductions (such as NPS, taxes), the starting in-hand salary ranges from Rs 36,000 to Rs 45,000 per month.
With experience and promotions, the salary can increase to Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000 or even higher.
