The Congress on Sunday fielded Kanhaiya Kumar from the North East Delhi constituency against Bharatiya Janata Party’s Manoj Tiwari. The Grand Old Party, in it’s fresh list, announced the Lok Sabha candidates for ten constituencies, including three from Delhi.

Kumar will be contesting the polls for the second time, after he fought as a Communist Party of India candidate from Bihar’s Begusarai in 2019. Back then, he had lost to Union minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Giriraj Singh. A former JNUSU president, Kumar joined the Grand Old Party in 2021 and was inducted into the Congress Working Committee in 2023.
