Sharing his experience, the man wrote in the post, “I went with my girlfriend this time and rented a car ’cause we didn’t want to drive a scooty in this scorching heat. While going back, I dropped her at the airport (GOI) and I was going to Madgaon for my train."
The man further goes on explaining that he apparently “cut" two local guys who were on a scooter, adding that there were “no bump, no scratches, our vehicles did not touch and frankly, I didn’t even cut him but they can argue that".
“They asked me to stop but I was in a hurry to catch my train so I left. They followed me till the station and blocked my car. Then one guy got off, picked up a stone and threatened to break the windshield if I didn’t open the window," wrote the man.
He further said that he was punched as soon as he opened the window. “His other friend was just standing and both were abusing me about me being from outside and the generic maa behen ki gaaliya and over what? Cutting him??!. He constantly kept hitting and punching me – all this when my train was about to leave in 7-8 mins while I still had to reach MAO, return the car and catch the train," added the man.
According to his post, some locals later helped the man and he was “barely able to return the car and get to the train."
He concluded the post by saying he “hates" Goa and the incident has “scarred all the good times" he had there.
He also mentioned that he was planning on filing a complaint, however, it was still uncertain if he got the complaint lodged.
Meanwhile, netizens expressed concern over the incident, and some shared their experiences.
“It has become way too stressful in Goa because of lack of transport options. Local taxis charge a bomb," wrote one user.
“Mob justice and vigilantism is the new culture in the country. Get used to it…this is not just a question of Goa, this is the new culture and the new norm in the whole country," a second said.
“Exact same feeling. Faced something similar but comparatively a very mild reaction but yes never gonna go to Goa again as I was the one who used to visit Goa every year," wrote a third user.
