MP Horror: On Camera, Elderly Woman, Son Thrashed By Daughter-In-Law, Family In Gwalior
The elderly woman was allegedly thrashed by her daughter-in-law for refusing to go to an old age home. When her son intervened, she called her family members and had her husband beaten up.
In a disturbing case from Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, an elderly woman was brutally thrashed, thrown on the floor, dragged, pushed and hit on the head for reportedly refusing to go to an old age home.
Shocking videos on social media showed an altercation breaking out at the house between the daughter-in-law’s family and her husband’s parents. The daughter-in-law also called men from his parents’ house and got her husband beaten up as well.

The elderly victim was identified as Sarla Batra, 70, who lived with his son Vishal, his wife Neelika and their grandchildren. She alleged that her daughter-in-law wanted to take over the family’s property and tried to send her to an old age home.
On the day of the incident, the daughter-in-law reportedly started to abuse the elderly woman over a minor household issue. When the woman’s son tried to intervene, Neelika called her father and brother for help, who barged in the house and verbally abused Sarla and started thrashing her son.
When the elderly woman tried to save her son, Neelima attacked her, pushed her to the ground, kicked her and even hit her head against the wall. The accused also threatened to kill them if they lodged a complaint, according to reports.
Initially, the police reportedly did not file a case despite being shown the CCTV footage, allegedly under the influence of the accused. Later, they approached senior police officers, and an FIR was finally registered.
Robin Jain, DSP Headquarters Gwalior, confirmed that a case had been registered. “The incident occurred 1-2 days back in Adarsh Colony where a daughter-in-law was seen assaulting both her mother-in-law and husband in a viral video," he told reporters.
“A formal complaint has been filed regarding the physical violence, and we’ve registered an offence," he added. “Preliminary information suggests a family dispute triggered the altercation."
