Memorial Of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj To Be Built In Sangameshwar, Announces Deputy CM Ajit Pawar
While presenting the state budget, Ajit Pawar said that the government has planned an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore in the tourism sector over the next 10 years.

The Maharashtra government will build a grand memorial dedicated to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Sangameshwar, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar announced while presenting the state budget in Maharashtra Assembly on Monday.
In addition, the deputy CM further announced efforts will be made to build a memorial of the Maratha war in Panipat, Haryana.

Earlier on March 5, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced to build the memorial of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj at Sardesai Wada in Maharashtra’s Sangameshwar.
While presenting the state budget, Pawar said that the government has planned an investment of Rs 1 lakh crore in the tourism sector over the next 10 years.
“Among the places in Maharashtra where traces of the valor of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who dedicated his life to the protection and expansion of the Swarajya established by Chhatrapati Shivaji, fought with boundless bravery and courage, and achieved victory in all battles, is Sangameshwar in Konkan. It was here that Maharaj took along countless brave warriors to fight against Aurangzeb’s gigantic army. I announce that a grand memorial will be erected at Sangameshwar to permanently preserve the memory of the valor of the self-respecting king who sacrificed his life for Swarajya," Pawar said.
He further said, “A grand Shivsruthi project is being set up in four phases at Ambegaon in Pune city to introduce the inspiring character of Shivaji to the coming generations based on latest technology. The work of two of the phases has been completed and the state government will provide another Rs 50 crore to expedite the remaining work."
Pawar also announced the construction of several memorials in the state.
In the budget, he said that a grand memorial of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be constructed in Agra.
Apart from this, he has assured to complete the work of Ambedkar Memorial built in Indu Mills.
A grand memorial of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray is also being built in Mumbai and budget Rs 220 crore has been allocated for the second phase of the memorial.
A memorial of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will also be built in Mumbai in his birth centenary year.
