Pahalgam Terror Attack: PM Modi Holds CCS Meet, HM Shah Reviews Security Situation
PM Modi returned to Delhi early Wednesday morning, cutting short his official visit to Saudi Arabia in response to the attack.

A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the Pahalgam terror attack site was held on Tuesday. Top security officials, including the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, attended the meeting as the government reviews its response to the deadly assault that claimed 26 lives.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday reviewed the situation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, where a terrorist attack claimed 26 lives. PM Modi returned to Delhi early Wednesday morning, cutting short his official visit to Saudi Arabia in response to the attack. He was originally scheduled to return on Wednesday night.
On the other hand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday visited Baisaran Valley, the site of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam. Arriving by chopper, Shah took stock of the situation on the ground. Earlier in the day, he paid his respects to the victims and met with their grieving families, offering condolences and support in the wake of the tragedy.
Expressing grief over the attack, PM Modi stated that those responsible will not be spared and that the nefarious intentions of the terrorists will never succeed.
On social media platform X, PM Modi wrote: “I strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. I express my condolences to those who lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected."
He added: “Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice. They will not be spared. Their terror agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unwavering and will only grow stronger."
Earlier on Wednesday, PM Modi spoke with Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the Pahalgam attack. According to government sources, PM Modi directed him to take strict action and also visit the site of the incident.
