MP Man Livestreams His Death; Wife, Mother-in-Law Held For Abetting Suicide

Madhya Pradesh Police have arrested the wife and mother-in-law of a 27-year-old man who died by suicide during a social media livestream, charging them with abetment to suicide six days after the incident.

He was found hanging at his home, following a video in which he alleged that his mother-in-law and wife had destroyed his household, capturing his final moments.
After investigation, the police found that one of the social media accounts that was viewing the deceased’s video could be traced back to his wife.
However, his wife has denied that she had watched the video live and stated she had seen it after her husband was already dead.
Following the registration of an unnatural death case, the police took the man’s wife and mother-in-law into custody, charging them with abetting his suicide.
Sirmour police station in-charge, JP Patel, told TOI, that the deceased used to work as a priest in Wardha, Gujarat. He had returned home, around six months ago due to an accident that had caused injury to his leg.
The couple had a six-month-old child but the two were known to have frequent arguments. At the time of his death, the man’s wife was staying with her mother, Patel told TOI.
Prior to his death, the man visited his mother-in-law’s residence to bring his wife back home but returned alone after a heated argument ensued. He subsequently live-streamed his final moments.
