During police interrogation, Vedpal confessed to the murder, revealing that his father, a labourer by profession, habitually handed over all his earnings to his lover, leaving Vedpal without any financial support. This financial neglect further strained their relationship. Vedpal had once asked his father for money to repay a loan, but Ishwar refused, fuelling Vedpal’s anger.
On the fateful day, Vedpal’s fury reached its peak upon discovering the extramarital affair. In a fit of rage, he killed his father with a sharp weapon and disposed of the body in a forest. To mislead the authorities, Vedpal initially lodged a complaint against unknown persons.
Baghpat Additional Superintendent of Police, NP Singh, confirmed the incident, stating, “Ishwar, a resident of Basod village, was murdered by his son on Friday evening. The police recovered the body and sent it for autopsy. The accused, Vedpal, had attempted to deceive the police by filing a complaint against unknown individuals."
The police, however, grew suspicious of Vedpal’s story. Upon his arrest and subsequent questioning, he confessed to the crime. Vedpal explained that his father’s refusal to provide financial assistance and his extramarital affair with Vedpal’s wife drove him to commit the murder.
A case has been registered against Vedpal under the relevant sections of the law, and the investigation is ongoing.
