Phulera Dooj 2025 Date: Phulera Dooj, the festival associated with Lord Krishna, is one of the biggest celebrations in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura and Vrindavan. It is observed in the month of Phalgun, on the Dwitiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha. It is also known as Phulera Duj and Phoolera Dooj.
Devotees of Lord Krishna travel to Mathura, Vrindavan, and Krishna temples during this festival, when they pray to the Lord and ask for his blessings. According to certain astrologers, muhurta is not required to carry out auspicious activities on this day, such as marriages, house warming etc. It is a good idea to carry out auspicious tasks throughout the day.

According to Drik Panchang, Phulera Dooj will be observed on Saturday, March 1 this year. The Dwitiya Tithi will begin at 03:16 AM on March 1, 2025, and end at 12:09 AM on March 2, 2025. It is important to note that Phulera Dooj puja is very auspicious during this time.
Phulera Dooj 2025: Rituals
- A few days prior to Holi, the festival is celebrated. As a result, people use flowers to adorn their houses and temples.
- Early in the morning, devotees gather to perform the puja together, placing the idols of Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha.
- Phulera Dooj is celebrated with great fanfare and opulence in various regions. Rather than using colours or gulaal, people play with flowers.
- During the puja, people also chant various Krishna Mantras.
- Along with flowers, devotees offer sweets such as rice kheer, makhana kheer, khoya barfi, panjeeri and panchamrit to Lord Krishna.
- Once the puja is over, they distribute the sweets with family members.

Since it is observed just a few days prior to Holi, it is thought that Lord Krishna begins getting ready for the festivities at this time of year.
Phulera is a word related to flowers. People decorate their homes and temples with flowers in honour of the day. Devotees who worship Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha on this auspicious day are said to experience happiness, love, prosperity, and money.
According to legend, Lord Krishna began playing Holi on Phulera Dooj. Radha and the other Gopis played floral Holi with Lord Krishna. In the same way as Lord Krishna did with Radha, his followers have since celebrated Holi with flowers on Phulera Dooj in Braj, a region in Uttar Pradesh, centered around Mathura-Vrindavan.
On this scared day, temples are decked out in exquisite flowers, and people exchange flower bouquets and play Holi with flowers as a representation of the love between Radha and Sri Krishna. This occasion is also commemorated to foster beautiful and meaningful marriage bonds. On this day, Lord Krishna is supposed to appear as a symbol of love.
