Emraan Hashmi is gearing up for his next film, Ground Zero, which is inspired by true events. The film is releasing on April 25 in theatres and is based on one of the most remarkable operations— a two-year-long investigation that led to the elimination of the mastermind, Ghazi Baba. Emraan Hashmi will be essaying the role of Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey.
Adding to the growing momentum, Aamir Khan Productions extended its support to the film. Sharing the teaser on X (formerly Twitter), the production house wrote: “We’re thrilled for this one!", applauding the film’s powerful narrative and thematic depth. Ground Zero recently created history by becoming the first film to premiere in Kashmir in 38 years — a cultural milestone that resonated deeply with audiences in the Valley. The screening drew emotional reactions and heartfelt appreciation, reflecting the film’s honest portrayal of the region and its people.

Talking about his prep-work, Emraan said, “To do justice to the story and the uniform, Emraan went through a complete physical and mental transformation. “Preparing to play an army officer a BSF Commandant was one of the most intense and humbling journeys of my career. These men operate in the harshest terrains, under constant threat, and yet carry an unshakable sense of duty."
He further mentioned that the role was not just about wearing the uniform but earning it too. The trailer of Ground Zero was unveiled on April 7. It took us inside the world of the real-life hero who spearheaded one of the most audacious anti-terror missions in the history of Border Security Force. His operation, which led to the elimination of the infamous terrorist Ghazi Baba, was hailed as the BSF’s finest mission in five decades and earned him the prestigious Kirti Chakra in 2005.
Excel Entertainment presents an Excel Entertainment Production, produced by Ritesh Sidhwani & Farhan Akhtar. Directed by Tejas Deoskar, the film is co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia, Vishal Ramchandani, Sundeep C Sidhwani, Arhan Bagati, Talisman Films, Abhishek Kumar, and Nishikant Roy.
