In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India for an actors roundtable, Ali said, “We are very excited. It’s the OG cast and we are at the back of the table. Back in time, I suppose. It has to go back in time because some dead people are walking." While the interviewer asked if the makers are planning a prequel to the series, Ali maintained that they will eventually find out once it is released. However, the actor mentioned, “We are excited to bring it to the theatres. Peaky Blinders also did that. It wasn’t like a one-off or an odd choice of move."

Earlier, during a chat with Sucharita Tyagi, Ali Fazal revealed how intense the action sequences in Mirzapur were. The actor stated, “Moral dilemmas happen" while shooting. Recalling one such incident, he shared, “On Mirzapur, there was a scene where I killed someone in what I thought at the time was a very unnecessary way to execute that scene. And I just couldn’t redeem myself. The character also could not have redeemed itself from that. I thought it was just wrong, like why would you write that?"
