Vivian Dsena, in an exclusive conversation with News18, spoke about being tagged the 'ladla' of Colors channel. Read on!

When Vivian Dsena had first stepped into the Bigg Boss 18 house, expectations were sky-high. The seasoned actor added his unique flavour to the rollercoaster show. And while he might not have walked away with the coveted trophy in the grand finale held last night, January 19, 2025, Vivian’s first runner-up position has left his fans feeling proud. This season has been won by Karan Veer Mehra.
In an exclusive chat with News18, Vivian opened up about his journey, the ‘channel ka ladla’ tag, being accused of having double standards and more. With a warm smile, Vivian reflected on his Bigg Boss stint saying, “People win trophies every year, but very few win hearts of people. I am glad and I look at the positive side. The response I have gotten from my fans is only an addition to my life. My family and people from the industry have supported me a lot. I feel proud and grateful that I have fans who made me reach the top 2 even though several questions were raised against me. I have nothing to regret."

But what about missing the trophy by a whisker? When asked if the close finish left him disappointed, Vivian’s response was heartfelt. “More than me, I am sad for my fans. They were expecting a lot from me. I couldn’t make it happen, so I want to ask them—guys, what can I do to make you feel better?"
Vivian then addressed the whispers about being the ‘channel ka ladla’ with nonchalance. Quoting the evergreen Rajesh Khanna, he said, “Kuch toh log kahenge, logo ka kaam hai kehna. If I had won the show, people would have said ‘ladla tha isliye jeeta’, and if I didn’t win, then they would say, ‘ladla hokar nahin jeeta.’ Khush kisme hoge tum? I really don’t care about these things. I am just happy I won hearts."
Life inside the Bigg Boss house is not for the faint-hearted. Vivian candidly spoke about his emotional turmoil saying, “Ups and downs in the Bigg Boss house happen with everyone. Usually, in the outside world, you have diversions like family. I sit with my wife to discuss things. But here, she was also not there. In Bigg Boss, your emotions are on a surface level, so little things trigger you. When everyone wanted to throw Avinash out of the house, I was the only one who said, ‘Kya bakwaas hai ye?’ How can you oppress someone like this? And look at him now—he reached the top five. Kisi ka galat na ho bas. People pointed fingers at me that I have double standards because I was feeding someone I was fighting with. Kisi se aap naraz ho toh aap usse bhooka maar doge kya?"
He added, “People love to dramatize things, but understand a person’s nature also. Don’t judge them based on a few incidents."
With Bigg Boss wrapped up, will we see Vivian make a comeback on screen, we asked him. The actor replied, “Currently, the market scenario was not suitable for me. I was not getting good stories. If you realise, all four shows of mine have characters played by me that are completely different from each other. It takes a lot of time to find the right script. So it is not a comeback for me because I never went anywhere. It was a personal choice to take a backseat. I wanted to spend time with my family."
