Having helmed a celebrated sports career, former Australian cricketer David Warner is ready for a new journey, trying his hand at acting with Telugu film Robinhood. The trailer for the Nithiin and Sreeleela starrer Robinhood was recently unveiled, and fans couldn’t help but notice Warner’s special appearance with a lollipop. According to reports, the veteran cricketer will be playing a three-minute role in the film, marking his acting debut in the Indian film industry.
With Warner’s constant admiration for Indian films and songs, his appearance in one of them has now piqued interest among fans. While details about his character have been kept under wraps, reports suggest that Warner has charged quite a hefty amount for the film. David Warner, who will play a cameo role in Robinhood, has reportedly charged Rs 2.5 crore, which means Rs 1.25 crore each day for his brief appearance. The makers or the production team are yet to confirm the amount, leaving fans speculating.

Earlier this month, the cricketer dropped his first-look poster on social media with the caption, “Indian cinema, here I come. Excited to be a part of #Robinhood. Thoroughly enjoyed shooting this one. GRAND RELEASE WORLDWIDE ON MARCH 28th." Ever since, he has been on a promotional spree, even visiting Hyderabad for the trailer launch.
It is worth mentioning that David Warner has been longtime associated with Telugu films, tracing back to the time when he often shared reels on Telugu songs, including many on Allu Arjun’s Pushpa films.

Directed by Venky Kudumala, Robinhood is focused on Nithiin’s character, who switches his profession from stealing to protecting after being hired as a bodyguard for a high-profile client. Sreeleela will be seen as the daughter of a company MD. Other actors, like Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore and Devdatta Nage, also play significant roles.
Robinhood is slated for release on March 28.
